Im fairly new to the handgun scene, but im looking to buy a .22LR target pistol of some sort...something thats not going to cost a fortune(on a pretty tight budget these days!!), is accurate, and reliable. Either an automatic or revolver, just something that i can go play with on the weekends and improve my skills. Can anyone recommend anything??

I like my Colt Target match alot. and it wasn't much more expensive than other .22's. Very accurate.

you have to at least consider the Ruger MKII. the most common and arguably the most reliable .22 pistol ever made. accuracy is up with the best.

Used Ruger MKII's around here sell for about 200 bucks! Great guns, reliable, accurate, parts (if ever needed) available, affordable. Go Ruger!

Beretta (spelling) U22, i love them. they can be had in many many forms, wonderful guns. my Personally Favorite is S&W model 41 w/ 5.5" barrel, but that comes in at $1,026, rather pricey.

The Ruger 512 series. The heavy bbl is great. A plus is that they usually come w/ a great trigger. The minus is gitting them put back together after cleaning. GOOD SHOOTIN'----pruhdlr

Sig Trailside 6" or Browning Buckmark 5.5
Both are favorites.

Another vote for the Ruger MkII. The Competition model that I got was perfect right out of the box. Almost as nice as my old Mk I that has a gazillion rounds through it.

Gotta agree with the Ruger MarkII. I've shot them for over 20 years and owned my own for at least 15. Very accurate, use it for varmint hunting and squirrels as well as all the plinking I could ever want.

The Ruger Single Six is a nice, accurate, and reasonably priced SA target revolver in 22 LR (you can also swap in a 22 mag cylinder to expand your reach, if desired).
