What type of cartridge should I use for the Ruger new model
single-six with the magnum cylinder for coyote.
solid piont? hollow piont? How many grains?
Thanks!

Is that even considered an adequate round for coyote?

A .22 isn't adequate for a yote. Especially a handgun. No matter what cartridge you put into it, most likely you'll miss or injury him and cause a slow, long painful death. Please, do not hunt a yote with a .22. Save for a nice centerfire rifle that can take them down at far ranges (it's fun! believe me) I know other people will chime in here but that's just my humble opinion.

Never hunted coyote but I'd have to agree with the other posts that a 22 magnum round is too small for such an animal. I will tell you this, after trying numerous brands of magnum ammo in my single six, I found Remington GreenTips to be the most accurate out to 25 yards. But, nothing to brag about. FWIW.

I hunt quite a bit with my Single-Six. It's great on game up to coon size with the magnum cylinder loaded with premium ammo, but it's extremely under powered for coyote sized critters.

I've used a Single-Six on calling stands for foxes. The 22 magnum, even when loaded with the hottest, most destructive ammo available is only marginal on a fox. If you figure that a coyote is at least 3 times bigger than the usual fox, it's not too hard to do the math.

I might add that the magnums(from a revolver) lose much of their effectiveness on coon sized animals out past about 30-40 yards.
