View Full Version : Update on my Brother

My brother is home from the hospital. In case you don't remember, he accidently shot himself while pulling a loaded shotgun from the closet. They were able to save his arm but he will lose 40-60% of his strength in it. That's not bad considering the alternative. He still needs multiple surgeries and skin grafts but atleast he still has two hands to hold his children with. I would like to thank you all for your prayers. After 37 years I've finally begun to appreciate The One responsible for our being here. Have a lot of lost time to make up for and being part of this forum has really helped a lot. I find myself reading more about our Creator at times on this forum than I do about firearms. Thank you to all of you. Take care.

All good news! Thanks for the update on your brother... glad he's able to hold his kids! A wake up call for all of us as well. It's the unloaded gun that causes accidents!
Too, it's good to hear that through it all, you've been able to do some introspection as well! God is good... all the time!
God Bless,

I would hope that your comments will cause others to rethink about firearms safety and prevent a reoccurrence.

Good news to hear. Kinda puts things in perspective. Worrying about what caliber to buy doesn't seems as important with what you'll went through
God Bless You

He has a way of reminding us to be thankful for what we have, and that no matter how bad you think your life is, there are many, many others that would gladly take our place.
I am glad that you have let Him into your life and heart, and have seen the power of prayer, not only for your brother, but for yourself as well.
Take care, and may God bless you and your family.

Good to hear he's doing well! I know it gave me a wake up call and Marshall is right, its the "unloaded" guns that cause problems!

I am glad through your brother's terrible accident that the silver lining may be that you've found God.
Hope your bro has a speedy recovery.
God Bless
