Just curious what other shooters think of this gun.
Ive got the 40VE and while nobody seems to like either, i personally love the gun! Its inexpensive, pretty accurate(once you get used to the trigger) and has so far been incredably reliable(over 4000 rounds and nothing broken and no jams, misfires, etc). A friend of mine has the 9VE and its basically the exact same gun but only 9mm. We shot about 1000 rounds of hand reloaded ammo through it the past couple weeks and he couldnt be happier with it. Some people have had reliability issues with theirs...but im thinking that its the older model Sigmas. For the price, i think its tough to find a better gun brand new for home defense or just having a little fun on the weekends. Functionality and looks of a glock with a 300 dollar price tag!

i bought the sw9ve back in sept and since put at least 1000 rounds through it of cheap Blazer ammo. Ive personally never had a single problem at all. My gf's brother though did have a small problem. hes inexperienced with guns and tends to "limp wrist", but it still fires just at the end it doesnt stay in the cocked back postion that it should on empty, but not a mechanical failure more of a lack of practice on his part. sw9ve is absolutly worth every penny i paid for it of 280ish dollars including tax. came with 2 10 round mags and S&W even sent me 2 more 16 rounders. since buying this sw9ve i have sold my old kel tec p11 and Colt .38 and now only keep this as a personal home protection. only drawback of the sw9ve is finding accessories for such as laser beam sights and such other then that PERFECT.

Another Sigma owner checking in. I have a SW40VE and it has been perfectly reliable, and suitable for a defensive pistol. Has to be the best "bang for the buck" gun made now.

I like how the pistol fits. Much better pointability than the Glock frame in which it's a clear copy. Has been reliable in the 10 years I've had mine. Small, lightweight, and easily to clean. Other than the heavy trigger pull, it's quite nice.

I like my sw9ve very much. It is like a GLOCK, but with a more comfortable grip. The trigger is a little tough, but not really bad. The price is really low for such a qood quality firearm. Here are some photos of mine:

I've got a SW9VE also... mine was $310, about $200 cheaper than the comparable Glock. One of my buddies has the G17, and his has feeding problems, but it may be due to his reloading for it.

My SW9VE has zero problems and is pretty accurate for being a short barrel DAO pistol.

I own a SW9VE, and i love it! I think it looks cool and is easy to fire. The trigger is heavy but easy to over come. Everybody who owns a Sig likes it from what I have heard, the criticizes the Sig seems not to own one. Even after i bought mine some dick head at my local range immediately started to dog my gun telling me i over paid. When I asked him if he had one, he said no. when i asked him if he had owned one, he said no. Last question was whom did he know that owned one, and again his answer was no. i simply told the over weight, under paid degenerate to "get lost." Not in such a nice way. i say don't dog something onless you have experienced it, so unless you own or have owned one shut up.

Hi all! I own a SW9VE (10+1 rounds) that I keep loaded with Federal's 147 Hydra-Shoks, JHP. I've noticed a LOT of folks talking about how "hard" the trigger pull is. Lest someone who is considering getting one stray away from it because of this, let me clarify. The SW9VE does NOT have a HARD trigger pull. It has a LONG trigger pull. There's a difference! The trigger is not hard to pull at all. You just have to pull it fairly far back before the weapon will discharge. Also, this in no way interferes with any double-taps (two quick shots), at least for me anyway. Two quick shots pop off without any trouble.

Would anyone agree with this assessment or have you found the trigger truly hard to pull in your opinion?

You are correct. Long is the correct description. I have a 40VE in the shop now to tweak the trigger pull some but the gunsmith held his nose in the air when I brought it in to him. He's had it long enough, so Wed. I'm done whether he is or not. It's not perfect but the price is right. I also have 2 Glocks and they're not perfect either.

True about the trigger pull, if you disagree, Jerry Miculek (world record holder for revolver speed shooting) has a 19lb trigger pull on his S&W 625. It simply takes adjustment to.

Granted I've only had my 9VE since friday, I've fired 200 rds or so and LOVE IT. Without an external safety, I believe the trigger pull is an excellent safety addition to the handgun. I feel much better about the two robberies my store has had in the past week because I've got this reliable little piece. What a smooth shooter! The trigger pull, in my mind, is quite easy, just extended. I've been a rifle owner since I was 3 ft high, but as my first handgun, I'm very pleased with the 9VE.

I never miss a chance to say something good about the Sigma. It has a trigger like a D.A. revolver, very good ergonomics, accurate, dependable and inexpensive with a great no B.S. warranty if needed. My SW9VE has never had any kind of malfunction with over 4000 rounds through it.
All that said, it is not my favorite range gun, by any means, but it is a very good car and home defense weapon. ;)
