Hey all. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am a relative newcomer to the gun world. I grew up in Maine and have fired handguns in the past, but have had the misfortune of being a resident of the People's Republik of massachusetts for some time now.

I have just begun the process (hoop jumping and extortion) of applying for a MA Class A LTC, plan on purchasing my first firearm shortly thereafter. Current;y looking at the Ruger SP101 2-1/4" in .357. Will discuss further in the handgun forums.

I'm glad I live in a state with such lax gun laws...though I guess in a state like Massachussets VT laws might not work so well. The SP101 is a fine gun, I hope you are able to get it...eventually once you have payed an arm and leg for your license.

All you have to do Pat's, is get rid of all those scum sucking, low life liberals that are spawned in Mass. and get some real red blooded Americans in office, locally, state and nationally to rectify the situation. :D

Tell me about it. That would be the ONLY, and I stress ONLY good thing about John Liveshot Kerry winning the White House. Would get him out of the Senate and our "Republican" governor, Mitt Romney woudl get to appoint an interim Senator to fill his slot until the 2006 election.

On the plus side, I had the talk with the Mrs. regarding getting the LTC and keeping firearms in the house. She is a bit of a gunophobe, but understands where I'm coming from. I will be taking the Basic Pistol course in the next couple weeks as part of the application requirements.

And she likes the idea of going to the range and out-shooting me. She went shooting with an ex-boyfriend who was in the Navy, and says she's a good shot. We shall see.

Also, I have a neighbor who's a Boston cop, and whom I get along great with. I gave him a "Peace Through Superior Firepower" bumper sticker to go along with his Marine Corps stickers and his "(peace sign) The Footprint of the American Chicken" sticker. The MA application requires two personal references, so I figure he'd be a good name to have on my list.
