Does anyone have experience they would like to share or recommendations regarding the tactical lights that attach to the HK USP?

Well, none of them are cheap, but i like the ones from insight lights. Particularly the m6, It has both a bright white light and a red laser pointer and usualy retails for around $170. The also make a m6x which is a little more powerful and waterproof but it cost closer to $500. And if you've really got the big bucks and a way of accuireing LEO produducts get their model with the infrared laser for the ultimate in a covert ops.

Yes. Don't buy one.

They are an expensive gadget that could get you killed in a real armed confrontation. A friend and I tested a white light-equipped Beretta in my old 13-room house. All house lights were turned-off and the only ambient light came through the windows. In all but one of a number of "house sweeps," the light-equipped shooter was "killed" by the other guy without a light. We did this for a couple of hours, switching who had the illuminated Beretta, who defended, and who attacked. Don't fall into the ad hype that you can use white lights to blind a bad guy, or you only "flash" them at the last split second to confirm their identity. Dangerous hogwash.

I can’t decide whether to buy one or not. I want one for home defense. I want either a hand held or one mounted to my gun. Either way it makes since to me to have some type of light in the dark.
