Are there any real differences in the different 336 models eccept for the caliber, wood quality, and barrel band/forend cap? Mine's a 336 CS (336 C according to manual, 336 CS according to sales paperwork) and I would like to know if there is any difference in quality between the models.

Regards,
Bones

(Not that it makes any real difference :D . Mine only stayed stock till the Brownell's packages started arriving  !)

Different models even vary over time.
My 336/35 RC was made in '54 . It has the straight stock and ballard rifling. Now I inquired about another RC on the net and ithas a pistol grip and micro grove barrel.( rats)
Same as Cars!! A T-bird in 56 was not the same in the 70's and eighties as it is now.
I would have liked to have found anothe rifle like the one I have , or better the same in 30/30.
The 30/30 CB came and was gone before I knew it was made as well as the 336 ER.
Marlin says -Lack of sales.
Well I say it was never promoted.

Anyone else remem\bers thje "Glenfield" versions...some ugly pressed checkering/animals in a cheap-wood stock, but for all I could see the metal was the same.
