Oh learned reloaders...is this tool a necessity or a novelty?

Oh man.
You talk about a gimmick!
You could make something like this out of a hardwood dowel IF you had to.
This is why I like to trim new brass all to the same length before reloading it with the Lee Trimmer (Fast and Easy). Also is a quick length check to boot.
If your cases are that badly different in length that you would need a "tool" like this, they won't crimp worth a darn either. Starting out with cases that are reasonably the same length will negate any need for a "tool" like this.
Save your money there big guy. <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://beartoothbullets.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->

Hi, Alan:
You can get a tapered punch at your local hardware store for a lot less than ฤ.
Bye
Jack
Thanks for the feedback gents - I won't know if I don't ask! Assumptions have cost me a lot of time and money over the years.
Contender - part of my midsouth order includes a Lee trimmer...you and everyone else I've talked to say the Lee is simple and effective.
FYI - MidSouth is now online with secure ordering. They are ironing out a few bugs but their overall selection and prices are excellent.
