Hey All:

Anyone hear of the M.O.A. Maximum single shot handgun?
www.moaguns.com

I am looking for a 300 Rem handgun and .223 barrels.
I like the Encore but it would be nice to own somthing that the whole block dousn't have.

I have heard of them and seen a few, but they are not very popular. You would certainly own something not everyone has, but finding barrels in the calibers you want may be a lot more expensive as you are limited to buying factory only. Did you see any prices listed on their site? I couldn't find them.

I have one with a 357 and a 7mm br barrel for silhoutte shooting. The price, with both barrels was just over $1000. It's a great gun but it has it's pluses and minus:

-plus's--

Amazingly accurate. Quality reloads produce sub-moa accuracy in most calibers.

Extremely strong. Stronger than Encore acording to builder.

Very high quality fit and finish.

Available in about any caliber you would want to shhot from a handgun and sereral I wouldn't want to try (375 H&H).

The guy that builds them (Richard) is very nice and patient with shooters who don't know as much about gun building as he does (just aboy all of us).

Minus's

Expect to wait at least 12 months (maybe more) for delivery.

The barrels are mated to a particular reciever. You can't buy someone else's barrel and use it.

Weak case extraction if you are using cast bullets -- the lube gums it up. Richard recommends jacketed only.

If I were to buy another, I'd probably look for a good used one. You see one occasionally at the board on www.ihmsa.org

You also might be interested in the BF ultimate at www.eabco.com. It will also take abot 12 months

Ya I was planing on the wait and about that price range. I sent an e-mail to the company asking if there were any in my area but I guess there are no dealers around. Is there any other sudgestions out there that I should look into?
