Larry said whoever controls the server was going to shut down marlinowners because the amount of trafic (number of hits was overloading them). The forum is supposed to move to another server and will be back up. It may come back for limited time on the current server.reflex264

I think it's more of withdrawals than anything else as Marlinowners is the first forum I look at everyday. I don't post that often but I have gotten a lot of good information from other members. It's too bad the the server can't handle the traffic over the weekend wne everybody has time to sit at their computors and really get to read the different messages. During the week I only have a few minutes everyday to look at various forums as my wife is on the computor at home and at work I can only get on a computor for about 10 minutes while I'm on break.
You can always go ahead and write a question for the new Ask Anna forum. :D

Just got an answer to my email. Marlin Owners will be down for a few days, to switch to a dedicated server. Please be patient. Due to the success of the forum, it has growing pains! They'll be back ASAP!

Jayo,
This one may seem overmoderated, but it will be here when others are so full of wasted bandwidth that they go T.U.
Just my opinion as usuall ;*)

moderation in all thing my mother said, which I interpret as there's no such thing a asbstinence(SPELL CHECK)(HIC)(DID I GET IT RIGHT?). Igot drawn into a interesting exchange at MO over the gay marriage thing and I kind of wished for my mother or a moderator to pull me out. We all left smiling but the ride was getting bumpy and it ended before we all crashed. It WAS a little fun kind of like fish tailing on an old dirt road. The trick is knowing when to slow down or get out. I find it interesting 95% of politics are excluded here yet religion is not. The best parties or social events can be run off the road by bringing up politics or religion. I steer clear of the religion thread cuz it's marked. Why not have a Politics thread here? Would it really soak up that much band width? I don't know what happens in the Cross thread, I suppose anyone with a differnt view on things could cause as much stir as gays and righties or southern babtists vs world babtists(SPELLCHECK?). Anyhow.. this sight is cool and when I want to cut doughnuts I know where to go... when it gets back!

Seaweaver,
You should pose that question/suggestion to Marshall. I have no say in the matter. We realy try to keep a light hand on the tiller, and seldom does any one moderator make an executive decision.
As to Cross-Wire, it is no secret that the Stantons are Christians and believe that part of the forum is important. Christians are funny thata way you know;*)
I do not know of anyone who has ever been blocked for having a difference of opinion as long as they keep the discussion civil. That goes for any thread in any forum.
Feel free to do a doughnut or two, just do not spin rocks into someone elses grill 8*)

Seaweaver, it was decided to ban political discussionts that weren't 2nd amendment related after seeing a bunch of other message boards go up in smoke on various political firestorms.
Kind of arbitrary, yes, but I can assure you the board is full enough with just gun topics.
It is sad to see people who otherwise would be friends tear each other up over political differences.

Got an answer back. The sight is only down temporarily. He is moving to a server that doesn't limit the number of hits. Seems the site was so popular it couldn't stand the traffic. When it's moved, it will come back up again.
Be patient, and ignore any rumors that it is going anywhere.

J a y c o Here. That was cute.If I was to give my responce to that, well all you fello moderater's would tromp me.I just gave my opinion, that's all,but I can't respond as you did.Constuctive critisisom is not to be feared.I like this site.So I can't spell as well as you?Opinion's shouldn't be feared as it makes a better world.
Now if you want to compare real life exprience with Elk or Deer etc,I must warn you as an ex logger for 38 year's driving the back country of Idaho, the odd's are in my favor.
Best of luck to you-Scotty from Ron.
