I am debating between the SS loaded and SS TRP for carry. I just want the most reliable, I dont care that the TRP has a slightly better finish or is 1" more accurate at 50yrds. Is there anything that would make one pistol better than the other for carry? I will also use this pistol for IDPA, but much more for carry.

Have never fired the TRP. However, I have and use the SS Loaded. Wouldn't trade it for anything! Have several hundred through it without any hint of problems.

I own a Springfield compact .45 LOADED and I love the gun. I did have problems with some ammo brands jamming. I sent it back to Springfield and they went over the gun and literally did a couple on hundred dollars worth of enhancements. They up graded the springs, polished the ramp, and throat, refinished the gun. When I got it back it worked great. Springfield stands behind their guns and if you ever want to have the gun refinished or just upgraded they will do it no questions asked

This thread had been out of the loop for ahwile, but instead of starting a new one:

I am looking at getting either the loaded with the parkerized finish from Springfield, or the lightweight operator.

Does anyone have any experience with these two specific firearms, or would it be worth the money to go for the TRP?

I carry a loaded model. Just over 1000 rounds through it. So far no malfunctions. I wouldnt trade it for anything!

Springfield is moving all of its 1911 manufacturing to South America.

I just put a couple magazines through a Loaded model, very nice, I would just like to try an Operator model now.

I had the Springer SS loaded, great gun.

I sold it to a friend, so I could buy the loaded Lightweight Champion...another great gun.

I feel Springfield has got the semi custom 1911 down pat.
