Does anyone know if Ruger makes the sp101 in the 3 1/16" barrel with a spurless hammer? Or it is with a spur only?

To answer my own question- nope they dont....
But anyhow, I just got my 2nd handgun today- a sp101 with a 2.25" barrel and a spurless hammer. Its a very tiny gun compared to my gp100 and easy to conceal- cant wait to get out and fire it.

If you shoot the longer barrel, you will love the balance the extra length brings! My favorite revolver!

Twenty years of playing with, shooting, admiring and trading revolvers, and I'm convinced the two perfect barrel lengths are three and five inches. Every wheelgun I get from here out is gonna have one or the other, unless it's a 41 Redhawk with 7.5" bbl and scope mounts. Anybody else feel that way?
I really like the looks of the SP-101, if I ever need another 38, that one will likely get the nod. Will probably buy the 357, and shoot both calibers. I don't know if they're "cute", but they sure are fun!

I've had both barrel lengths in the SP101, and MUCH prefer the 3" barrelled version. For me it balances and points better, and the increased sight radius makes it a capable woods bummin' revolver, that you can actually take grouse and showshoe bunnies with regularity, whereas the 2" version was nothing more than a personal defence gun in my hands.
My nod goes to the three inch barrel SP101.
Fun stuff.

Spanky,
Dont let that first round discourage you.Ive been shooting the 2 inch for a while(10 yrs)and you will have control quicker than you think. The little gun is easier to grip than it looks.Dont shoot at night that muzzle flash is bad.
