I heard last night on the news that the state of Missouri has a new law! Yes, the Missouri State Supreme Court has passed the "RIGHT TO CARRY LAW".
There is going to be more opposition in the background however, by those who tried to get the bill killed before. Is there anybody who lives in Missouri that can shed some more light on this glorious piece of legislation that was passed?

Sadly, the bill was passed back in October I think. The court system was abused to prevent it from going into effect.
Thanks for sharing the good news. I occasionally travel back up there and my Texas CHL is now valid!!!!

The good news is that for the first time, Missourians over 21 can legally carry a loaded weapon on the seat next to them, something I never thought I'd see occur. (I was born and raised in St. Louis, still work there, but live in Illynoise). If they ever get this whole legal mess straightened out, I may consider moving back, Illinoise is still in the stone ages when it comes to personal freedoms. Luckily for me, I work armed, so anytime I travel in uniform, I've got my trusty bullet launcher on my hip. Since I've already had the training, I could carry legally in an instant if I were a resident. I just wish Missouri would require a little more training than they do, eight hours ain't much!

Last I heard it was now in full force. Ironically, the out-of-staters with licenses have immediate carry privileges, whilst the residents have to wait for training, permits, etc. (and anti-carry idiots threatening to sue any county that issues permits).
The carry-in-the-car provision is interesting and pretty well should get things off to a full rolling start regardless of the permits being issued.
Naturally, the first time someone lawfully carrying has to use lethal force, the newspapers will splash it all over the headlines, I guarantee it, and do their best to convict in print. Pretty soon it'll blow over and the media will think of someone else to annoy.
Seen all this happen in several states I've lived in that passed carry laws (Texas and Florida) and some things never change.
Congrats, and I look forward to being legally armed in MO the next time I head through there.

It is nice to see that the Show Me state has now gotten the right to carry. Now if Mo. could show the State of Ne. how to get the same thing passed it would be great. It is unbelievable to me that some of our western states do not have this right.

As a former res. of NE I remember always carrying rifles and shot guns openly, that is not cased in your vehicle, and in some western NE towns in deer season, we carried side arms in town (not conclealed). Is there a open carry provision in NE law?
