My dad gave me a 336T for my 12th birthday back in 1967. Haven't seen many of them around, and was just wondering how many years they made them. All three of my own sons used this same .30-30 for their first years of whitetail hunting, and it still funtions and shoots as well as it did back when I was a young lad. Thanks in advance for any input. Glen1

glen, I think they were made 1953-89. I have a 1954 in .35 Rem. and I really prefer the straight grip stock. Dave

I, too, have a 336T (for Texan). Mine is in .44 magnum. Bought it in 1967 from a W.T. Grant store. It kicks like a mule. I hate to shoot it from a bench because of this.

My brother helped me out and bought my 1980 mfg'd 336T from me. He loves it and uses it for all his centerfire deer hunting. It is the 18.5" barreled model with squared lever. Very nice wood too. I guess I do sort of miss it a little bit.... That rifle only had about 30 rounds through it when I sold it together with a new Swift 1.5x4 power scope.
I think Bro did ok at $300 for both. Shoot, it had the box and all the papers too.

Sawman,
I would have been glad to help you out, and I don't think we live too far apart.
