I am looking at a used Lee Production IV melting pot. Are these good melting pots?

I am looking at a used Lee Production IV melting pot. Are these good melting pots?

HAve an ancient old Potter...and a Lee. Was going to buy a Lyman, but came across a Lee pot and though I'd use it until it died...do a good bit of HP and HB casting, and this one is not the high-rise model (they didn't make it back then), so I took the base off and flipped the pot arround so it hangs off into space and bolted the base to the casting table.

I know...should have bought the high rise one when it came out...but I'm hard headed, and "cheap" enough to not get rid of things that still work fine.

Been using it this way for 22 years or so...hasn't died yet.

That is good to know. I think I will try to grab this used one if it is still around. Thanks again for all the info.

I bought a new LeePro 4-20 and really like it. Besides mold bullets I'm working my way through about 2500# of lead, pouring it into ingots!
