Well, I just finished slugging the bore with egg sinkers to get the inside diameter. I sluged just the muzzle and then did the entire bore, and much to my suprize they were the same dia. I expected the slug that went clear through to be smaller, due to restrictions but it pushed right through with ease. Both slugs measured .4305. I did it twice just to make sure I did it right. So what this tells me is that the tightest spot in my barrel is at the muzzle. Since I dont have restrictions at the most common places (dove tail cuts for sights) im wondering if I would still benifit any if I continue this project, or should I leave well enough alone? The rifling looks rough to the eye, tooling marks im guessing, but it does shoot good, 2.5" groups at 100 yrds with open sights. I plan on mostly shooting cast bullets. I havent had any problems with leading yet even though the rifling is a little rough. Looking for experienced opinions here, should I go ahead and start firelapping, or quit now and call it good? I do believe if its not broken dont fix it, but if you guys think I could still do some good by firelapping then I might try a few and see how it goes. Thanks.......Flinch
