Can anybody tell me some details about this mold such as
Typical as cast dia using wheelweights
Typical weight using wheelweights
Meplat size
Nose to crimp length (looks like it has 2 crimp grooves?)
Overall bullet length

How does it shoot for you?

I'm looking to start casting this spring for my .45 colt blackhawk, want a 300+ gr slug and for economic reasons mostly (read cheap ***) I'm thinking of using this mold for a starting place. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Eric

Eric,

I have this mold, and used it until I got my hands on an LBT.

The meplat is 360, it drops a bullet in wheel wieght wieghing about 318 grains and as cast about 453.

Even loaded out the overall legnth of the bullet isn't near the end of teh blackhawk cylinder. Load it out over 18.5 2400 and it should shoot ok. Have killed three deer and two pigs with it.

Mine drops wheelweight bullets right at .453". With lube and gas check installed they weigh 315 gr. Overall length of bullet is .769. .280 to first crimp groove, .360 to second crimp groove. .360 meplat. I have found them to be good shooters from a variety of guns {45 Colt rifle and pistol, 454 Casull}. For no more dollars than you will pay for one, it is a good start.
