I was looking through the online gun auctions today and someone had a 336CB .38-55 listed and he said the gun had been discontinued. It is still listed in the 2004 Marlin catalog. Does anyone know if there is any truth to the .38-55 being discontinued?

Not to my knowledge. It is still an available item on the Marlin web site. The Marlin 336CB in 30-30 has been discontinued. Maybe that's the basis of the rumor.

If it was checkered then it was replaced with a plain stock, on the current model
