Learning 2 shooting left handed?

Learning 2 shooting left handed?
Why was this moved to rifles and cartirdges? Does that make sense to you? Thought I was talking about shooting or learning t do it left handed? And mentioned learning better with my rifle or ar, but it seem the subject is broader than that? I metioned shooting left handed with other guns too? confused?

People tend to use the General Discussion forum as a dumping ground for all their posts, primarily because they don't want to take the time to locate the most appropiate forum and also, thinking the GD forum gets more traffic and exposure for their posts.

You mentioned learning to shoot a rifle left handed. That's why it was moved to the Rifles and Rifle Cartridges forum. Please do yourself and the Moderators a favor in the future and attempt to find the appropiate forum so we don't have to move it.

Please do yourself and the Moderators a favor in the future and attempt to find the appropiate forum so we don't have to move it.- Thought I was? You mentioned learning to shoot a rifle left handed. I did, but thought the other spot was better and more appropriate? General Discussion-thought I was too general, for rifles and cartridges, well more general than rifles and or cartidges and rifles specifically? Really didn't understand your thinking or criteria. Sorry to make your life harder, will work harder and error on the side of caution next time and encourage others to post in the rifles forum instead, too. Keeping off the ridge line! Thanks for your understanding and quick response.
And like I said "Sorry your moderatorship, please accept my apology." Since I am learning from my mistakes and all.

I have had problems with the moderators moving my posts when there was no reason for them to be moved, and when i politely asked why, i got a rude response with little reasoning behind it.

I appreciate the moderators on this site, they are on top of things, but sometimes you guys just do stuff that makes no sense, and give poor answers to legit questions, and deliver them with poor attitudes.

I guess they moved your post for the same reason they thought that "elk hunting" belonged in the rifles and cartridges, even though it had to do with all aspects of elk hunting.

P.S
have you given any thought as to how your going to go about learning to shoot left handed? i would also like to become competent shooter left handed as well as right.

oh and moderators, you can take my comments with a grain of salt, and for what its worth, your all better than most other sites moderators.

By doing?

Since, I can close either eye and can get the mechanics down, I'll just have to practice to be proficent. Alot!

It is a judgment call and we don't all have the same judgment, so sometimes we have to agree to disagree. A redirect is left where the thread started so there should be no reason the original author can't find it, or anyone else who was looking for it to follow up.

Since your original question was about shooting a rifle left-handed, well, I would have to agree with Ken that it the Rifles topic should be a pretty good fit....

I tend to make a note when moving threads, especially for new users, and that seems to help. But I type faster than Ken and so perhaps such a requirement would be onerous for him to meet

It's a volunteer job, and the sarcasm is just a free service I offer out of the goodness of my heart

Why ask why. Shooting opposite to you natural hand takes time and practice...
Some guys do it for medical issues. Not a bad idea to try every now and then cause you never know.

Good thing to learn and know! And know well! Have a freind who lost a hand, and recently it happen to someone here too, and it is a hard thing to learn after the fact he said?

Moderating a forum is something you have to experience to understand...and you can NEVER please everybody. On a good day though, you might please somebody.

I haven't been here long but I'm sure the mods and admins are giving it their best shot...don't be so hard on them, for every guy that makes an honest mistake there are usually 10 that are just too lazy to put something in the right section of the forum....which is enough to make anybody a bit "testy" at times.

You have no idea how repetitive it can be...the same thing over and over. Thats what gets old...at least in my opinion.

When I was about 15 I found out about eye dominance. I'm left eye dominant but right handed, but had been shooting right handed up until then. After that I started shooting left handed. About two months ago I started shooting right handed again, so now I shoot about 80% right and 20% left even though I can do both relatively easily. So yes, it can definitely be done. It just takes a little effort.

I'm hope I'm not too off topic, but this is true. I was a moderator for a little less than three years on a superforum that had some 5-10,000 active users. About half that time I was a one of three lead moderators. It's harder than it looks. No one ever thanks you for moderating, but it's necessary for any forum to function properly.

Thumbs up

LOL Just thought that being able to shoot no matter what is what was important, and it is. Practice, pays!
