Marlin 30AS Stock

I have an older Marlin 30AS that is in need of a new stock. Will a stock from a Marlin 336 be a direct replacement for the stock on my 30AS or do I need to find a stock specifically for a 30AS?

Since Marlin fits every original stock set specifically to the barrel/receiver it was issued with, ANY replacement (Marlin takeoff or aftermarket) might need some minor fitting due to variations in barrel contour and rear tang exact dimensions.

.45-70/M1895, XLR, & M444 stocks will also interchange within the parameters described above, since those actions are simply derivations of the M336.
