I like the writing in Field and Stream with one exception. I simply do not understand how you can be as sarcastic and condescending to one's readers as they are. They often print Letters to the Editors that offend them and they respond venomously. I've been a writer and editor for 40 years and one thing I have learned is you must appreciate and respect your readers even when they disagree with you.
I like Sports Afield because fishing doesn't interest me all that much and they are solely a hunting magazine now. I also enjoy Sporting Classics because I like wildlife art.

I do Outdoor Life and Field & Stream. Don't remember which but last issue was 100 pages with 50 pages of ads. Not renewing either one. Then the have useless double full page pics of one foolish thing or another. When you can read a rag in one SHORT sitting somehing is a-miss. Any suggestion for a decent one or two???????????? Got sick of the beggin from NRA so they are gone as well. Put my $$ in Goal and go from there... Have a great nite.. Stash

The only magazine I subscribe to is Montana Outdoors, I just wish it was monthly instead of bi-monthly. No advertisements and excellent photography.
