Heres another vote for the .41. When I started reloading it, the only readily available cast bullets I could find were 210g SWC. Hardly worth the effort IMHO. So I ordered a mold from Mountain Molds for a 270g WFN. One of these days I'll get around to loading them.

I just bought a LEE, two cavity, .41 Magnum Mold #410-240 from one of the gun boards.
I can't find any information on this mold on the LEE web site or elsewhere.
Does anyone know if this is an old, discontinued Mold or a special order Mold?
Thanks - J.Solo

There is a reason for the bullet weights that are offered in 0.410".

They work good!

Heavier can work well in some. Poor in others. The same as any other caliber.

Is NOT a 0.429. Expect it to behaive a little different.

The reason I wanted a heavier bullet is mostly because with a short barrelled open sighted pistol, I'M only accurate to about 40 yards offhand. So I would rather send a heavier bullet. I have also shot some factory 260g hollowpoints, and liked their performance.

I have some of those bullets made from that mold. The local shop used to sell them. I believe the mold has been discontinued by Lee. My Redhawk shoots them well when sitting on 17 grains of 2400 powder.
