I picked up a used guide gun this week, took it to the range this morning and had a "blast". Mine has the ported barrel. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. Folks up & down the range came by to get a look at the beast.

Again, enjoy!

I too, am part of the guide gun crew of guide gun anomynous. Have mine for little over a year. Have a Skinner brass rear peep sight, a willian firesight front, decelator pad and action job. I am a happy camper! I am learning to cast bullets for it now. It is a blast to shoot. But now that you have been bit by the bug, you're toast. Life will cease to exits as you know it.

You will spend more time fondling and admiring her than your spouse. There is no cure only acceptance.

Enjoy and have fun!

I bought a 1895M Guide Gun for myself, and a guide gun in 45-70 for my Son this past year. They are GREAT. I shot a 8 point buck with my 450 a week ago. He went down immediately. My son shot a spike horn buck with his Marlin XLR 45-70, and it to went down immediately. My hunting area is perfect for Big Bore rifles, and my hunting party is made up of 444 marlins, 450 marlin, and 45-70's and nobody has lost a deer yet shot by any of the three calibers. I drive allot, and I really like the Guide Gun for that purpose with the XS Ghost Ring sight. The Guide Gun is a superb handling fast weapon.

I had decided to buy a Marlin lever, and was in the process of trying to decide whether to go with 450 or 45-70, when I saw my 1895M for $450. Who could pass that up? So far I've handloaded 405-500 gr. hardcasts, and spent some custom dollars on it for a muzzle brake, limbsaver pad, DRC lever, action tune, WWG happy trigger etc. It's my favorite of all the guns I've ever owned.

I was patient and waited for YEARS for a decent price on a stainless guide gun, I should have just spent the money a long time ago.

I killed this deer with it on Thursday ...
