I found this information yesterday while researching the fatal bear attack in Montana a couple days ago. I found the information here to be downright facinating. It attempts to list and tell the circumstances for all known fatal bear attacks in North America for over the last 100 years. I also found it pretty interesting that Tennessee, where I live, is tied with Montana for the most fatal attacks since 2000 for any of the lower 48. Both deaths in Montana have been recorded
this year within the last 45 days.
