What is the proper way to break in a brand new, never fired rifle? *When I retired from the Air Force, some of the men pitched in & presented me with a Marlin 336 in 30-30 Win. *Should I just go buy some ammo & punch paper to figure out what shoots best?

Appreciate any advice!
