There are times we need to bore sight a rifle and just don't have one of the optical gadgets for the end of the barrel. Just pull out the bolt, slide in your homemade bore guide, and look down the barrel. The bore guide works like the peep on a receiver sight and sharpens up the target and hole in the end off the barrel.
