Has anybody used the hornady brass and if so how do you like it??

Mike,

I recently saw on either the Ruger.com  or Shooter.com forum that folks were having extraction problems using Hornady brass in their double action .454s.

Hornady had softened their brass to allow for better case life. They have since reformulated their brass.

You can verify this with Hornady, I understand they are replacing brass from the softer lot numbers.
