Greetings all, I want to get into reloading, probably for a 44mag to start off with. What reloading equipment would be good to start with?

Started the same way about a month or so ago, well... longer than that if you count thinking about it and planning and looking at all the catalogs and then loading about 300 rds with a Lee Loader (less than 30 bucks).

I finally went ahead and bought the Lee Aniversary Kit from Midway(before the shipping change) for 70 bucks. It just starts to grow from there. You will want to load every caliber you have and you will want more calibers. You will start making gun purchase decisions in a new way because of handloading.

My suggestion is just dive in. You will never be alone as long as you have internet access and it is a ball.

Thanks for the advice guys, I didn't think I could get started for as little as &#3630-70. Certainly sounds like a cheap way to try it out

Zed, if you can scrape up a little more money, Midway is running the RCBS reloading kit on sale for &#36219.  This is a very good buy for what you get.  The press alone normall sells in the range of &#36100 or so.  Most of my equipment is RCBS, although some things from Hornady, Dillon, Lee, and Lyman also.  It's all good if used properly.  Anyway if you can afford that price, the kit will outlast you.

If you're shooting large volumes of ammo (or would like to) a Dillon is mighty hard to beat. I've had an RL550B for about 2 years now, loaded many thousands of rounds (both handgun and rifle) and the machine just flat works. I'm also getting better ammo than I was loading on a single stage.:)

A good suggestion also.  For what it's worth, I cannot see going through life with out BOTH a single-stage and a progressive.  Dillon is a good machine and the company has excellent customer service.
